Dynamic equipment and machinery with reciprocating, rotating, impulsive, or impact aspects require a monolithic structure to resist forces and vibrations. Epoxy grout is the critical component of the foundation system that enables the transfer of energy from the equipment to the foundation and sub-soil, ensuring your machinery is stable and secure during installation.

Who Needs Epoxy Grouting?

Epoxy grouting is required any time rotating, reciprocating, or process equipment is installed on a concrete foundation. This includes reciprocating or centrifugal compressors, pumps, gas or steam turbines, motors, fans, and large process packages. When epoxy grout is not used for these applications, or when equipment is improperly grouted, these conditions can lead to premature failure due to misalignment, pipe strain, and high resonance vibration frequencies.

Epoxy vs. Cementitious Grout: Which Do You Need?

Epoxy grouts are the preferred choice for most rotating equipment applications. They offer superior compressive strength, chemical resistance, and long-term reliability under dynamic loading. BSA's epoxy grout lineup includes Chockfast Red Versaflow, Chockfast Red, Escoweld 7505E/7530, and FasTrac CE815.

Cementitious grouts and specialty concrete such as FasTrac NS or Fastrac 246 are excellent for lighter-duty high temperature applications for rotating equipment and structural or static equipment. BSA's team can help determine the right product based on equipment type, operating conditions, and schedule requirements.
